An extension for the Raspberry Pi allowing RS232 communication, an additional feature of the module is a number of protections and the separation of the RS232 bus from the Raspberry PI.
The module uses the SC16IS752 chip to convert the SPI bus to two RS232 buses. Stability, speed and unreliability make the chip ideal for automation control applications.
2CH RS232 HAT expansion features:
- Standard 40PIN GPIO connector, compatible with any version of Raspberry Pi
- SC16IS752+SP3232 chip pair provides conversion from SPI to RS232 bus, with a maximum speed of up to 921600bps
- TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) diode protects electronics against overvoltage and electrostatic discharge
- LED indicators for power and communication status
- SPI pinout for interfacing with e.g. Arduino
- C and Python operating examples available
