Connection to Raspberry Pi 5
The HAT connects to the Raspberry Pi 5 minicomputer using a special 16-pin ribbon cable dedicated to the integrated interface PCIe.

NVMe protocol and SSD support
The device supports Solid State Drives with an M.2 connector in popular sizes 2230 and 2242. It operates in Gen2 mode to ensure maximum performance, allowing for fast booting of the Raspberry Pi 5 system directly from the built-in SSD.

High-quality PCM5122 audio chip
The PCM5122 stereo chip is responsible for decoding and audio signal quality. The entire unit is controlled via the I2C bus, while the digital audio signal is streamed through the I2S interface.

Connector for M.2 NVMe drives
The M.2 connector integrated on the bottom supports only drives operating in the NVMe standard and protocol. SATA-based cards are not supported.

LED status indicators
To facilitate monitoring of device operation, the board is equipped with dual LED indicators, showing the current status and activity of the module in real time.

Jack 3.5 mm and RCA outputs
Audio connectors: standard 3.5 mm jack for audio playback using classic headphones and an RCA (cinch) connector for convenient connection of external audio systems.

Built-in EEPROM memory
Presence of a built-in EEPROM chip in the HAT architecture – this allows for automatic loading of the structure in the Raspberry Pi OS, which frees the user from manual driver configuration.
