Important installation and compatibility information
The ZBM5 is designed for maximum convenience and direct compatibility with most home wiring. However, a few important rules must be kept in mind for proper operation:
- Gateway required: The device requires a compatible Zigbee gateway (e.g., from the SONOFF eWeLink ecosystem) or a Zigbee2MQTT-compatible coordinator to operate.
- Minimum load (no N wire mode): When connected without a neutral wire, the minimum connected load cannot be less than 3W (otherwise the device may not turn off properly).
- Smart bulb limitations: Smart light sources cannot be used as a load in the no neutral wire mode (operating with smart lighting requires an installation with an N wire).
