SONOFF Orb-ZBDIM MINI-ZBDIM-E Zigbee wall dimmer 400W 230V energy monitoring
The SONOFF Orb-ZBDIM (MINI-ZBDIM-E) is a Zigbee lighting dimmer from the Fusion series, designed for wall mounting in 220–240 V AC installations. The module allows for smooth brightness adjustment from 0% to 100%, real-time electricity consumption monitoring, and acts as a Zigbee router to strengthen the network. For proper operation, the dimmer requires a neutral wire and pairing with a compatible Zigbee gateway.
Key features:
- Smooth brightness adjustment in the range from 0% to 100% with automatic and manual calibration modes.
- Real-time power parameter measurement and electricity consumption monitoring.
- Operates as a Zigbee router (repeater) to increase the stability and range of the mesh network.
- Compatible with Home Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and Zigbee-based systems.
- Built-in electrical protections against overload, overcurrent, and overheating.
- Supports resistive loads up to 400 W and dimmable LED sources up to 200 VA.
- Requires a full electrical installation with a neutral wire (N).
Smooth dimming in the full range from 0% to 100%
The Orb-ZBDIM dimmer allows for adjusting the light intensity in the range from 0% to 100% depending on the time of day and the needs of the household members. The built-in automatic and manual calibration function reduces flickering and sudden brightness jumps at minimum light thresholds.

Light source selection and compatibility
The device works with dimmable LED sources (up to 200 VA), traditional incandescent bulbs, halogen lamps, and dimmable electronic transformers. Please note that not every bulb is suitable for dimming — the installed light source must be clearly marked as dimmable. The dimmer does not work with CFL lamps, fluorescent lamps, LED strips without a dedicated dimmable power supply, or inductive loads such as motors or fans.

Real-time energy consumption monitoring
The built-in measurement module records the current power consumption of connected lighting fixtures. Data sent to the system allows for real-time control of electricity usage and verification of savings resulting from reducing light brightness.

Zigbee connectivity, router function, and required gateways
Thanks to the Zigbee radio chip (MCU EFR32MG21), the dimmer works with popular smart home ecosystems. The device is powered continuously from the 230 V network, allowing it to act as a Zigbee network router, forwarding data packets to other installation elements and eliminating dead zones in coverage.
An external Zigbee 3.0 gateway is required for the dimmer to work, for example SONOFF ZBBridge-P or a multi-protocol SONOFF Bridge-M (Bridge Max Matter Zigbee).
Installation tips and safety
The device is designed to operate in networks with a rated voltage of 220–240 V AC 50 Hz. Do not exceed or lower the operating voltage outside this range. Proper installation requires a phase wire (L) and a neutral wire (N). Operational safety is supported by an electrical status monitoring system with power cutoff in case of overload, short circuit, or excessive temperature.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- What types of loads and bulbs can be used with the dimmer?
Compatible are dimmable LED bulbs (marked as dimmable), traditional incandescent and halogen bulbs, and dimmable electronic transformers for low-voltage installations. The device does not work with CFL lamps, fluorescent lamps, LED strips without a dedicated power supply, or inductive loads. - Why does the LED bulb not turn on at the minimum brightness setting?
Some LED bulbs require a higher starting voltage. In the eWeLink app, use the manual calibration option and increase the minimum brightness level to a value at which the light source starts reliably. - Does the Orb-ZBDIM require a neutral wire?
Yes, the device requires a neutral wire (N) in the installation box for proper power supply and stable module operation. - Can I perform automatic bulb calibration without the eWeLink app?
Yes, the automatic calibration procedure can be started manually by holding the button on the device housing for 10 seconds.
