SONOFF AirGuard SNZB-02M environmental sensor
SONOFF AirGuard SNZB-02M is a high-precision environmental sensor communicating via the Zigbee 3.0 wireless standard. The device tracks temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure in real time, and thanks to a dedicated application, it allows for monitoring of the dew point and VPD index. It is perfect as an element of a smart home, powering automation systems that ensure an optimal microclimate. Note: A Zigbee hub is required for operation.
Key features:
- Monitoring of 5 in 1: measurement of temperature, humidity, pressure, and calculation of dew point and VPD in the application.
- High precision: accuracy up to ±0.2°C, ±2% RH, ±0.1 hPa with data refresh every 5 seconds.
- Battery powered: over 2 years of maintenance-free operation on a single CR2477 battery.
- Wireless connectivity: stable communication in the open Zigbee 3.0 standard.
- Smart automations: triggering scenes for fans or humidifiers based on collected data.
Advanced climate change tracking
The device records the smallest changes in the environment. Atmospheric pressure trend analysis makes it easier to predict upcoming weather changes. Additionally, the sensor supports dew point monitoring, which helps in preventing mold growth on walls, and also calculates the VPD index – a key parameter for those growing plants indoors.

Smart Home ecosystem and notifications
Thanks to the free, 6-month cloud data history, you can fully analyze the climate in your home. The module allows you to set comfortable ranges for individual parameters – once exceeded, the application sends an instant notification. The sensor works with Amazon Alexa and Google Home voice assistants (requires connection via the eWeLink cloud). Through a compatible Matter Bridge, it can also be integrated with the Apple Home ecosystem.

Thanks to the open Zigbee 3.0 standard, the device easily integrates with popular, open Smart Home platforms (e.g., Home Assistant).

Installation and dimensions
Compact dimensions and a completely wireless design mean the sensor can be placed almost anywhere – on a shelf, by a window, on a wall, or in the corner of a room.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the VPD parameter and where is it applied?
VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit) is an indicator defining the difference between the amount of water vapor that air can maximally contain at a given temperature and its actual amount. The VPD value is calculated based on temperature and relative humidity and is most often given in kPa. This parameter is particularly useful in plant cultivation, greenhouses, and automatic climate control systems, as it allows for the assessment of evaporation and plant transpiration conditions. Low VPD means humid air and less evaporation, while high VPD indicates drier air and more intense evaporation. - How to check the history of dew point and VPD?
Dew point and VPD index are calculated based on temperature and relative humidity. You can check their charts on the history page in the application. If they are not visible, click the gear icon (Settings) in the top right corner and use the "+/-" button to show or hide the desired curves. - How long does the sensor work on one battery?
The device is powered by a CR2477 battery. The operating time depends on environmental conditions and frequency of use, but it is typically over 2 years. To maximize battery life, ensure the sensor has good range with the Zigbee hub, which will minimize the number of transmission retries. - Can this sensor be used outdoors?
No. The SNZB-02M model is not waterproof and the manufacturer does not recommend using it outdoors, especially in places exposed to contact with water and high humidity.
